Chris Herman

Chris Herman focuses on defending public entities and their employees, insurance defense, and commercial litigation under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act.  He is admitted to practice in all Ohio and Kentucky state courts and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.  Chris is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the Dayton Bar Association.  He has also served as a legal advisor to the Chaminade-Julienne High School Mock Trial Team.

After law school, Chris worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the Tuscarawas County Public Defender’s Office.  He gained invaluable courtroom experience winning not guilty verdicts in numerous jury and bench trials for various misdemeanor criminal and traffic offenses.  He also defended parents in neglect, dependency, and abuse cases and helped them successfully complete reunification plans to regain custody of their children.  Chris continued to pursue a career in public service by accepting a position as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.  He served as a felony trial attorney including murder, breaking and entering, and drug possession cases.  A graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, Chris served as President of the Student Bar Association and was also a member of the Saul Lefkowitz Intellectual Property Moot Court Team.  Chris worked at the law school’s appellate legal clinic representing indigent criminal defendants from Summit and Mahoning Counties.  Chris graduated cum laude from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing.
